According to a recent article from The Hill, democratic lawmakers have introduced a bill that would ban toxic pesticides such as organophosphates, neonicotinoids and paraquat. Organophosphates attack the nervous system and have been shown to effect IQ in children, neonicotinoids damage bee populations and paraquat has been linked to Parkinson’s disease. The bill would give more power to individual citizens and communities, increase requirements for farms and chemical companies and require more regulation and review of toxic pesticides from the EPA.
